Hugh and Hannah

Five. I think Hannah was five when her family moved to Stillwater, her dad to be our new youth minister. Fast forward some years, around the time I was moving to Texas to work full-time at camp, the Howards were following the Lord’s call to the Cowboy Church of Ennis. A few years later, Jerett and I also moved to Ennis to work with the youth at the Cowboy Church, and that’s when we met Hugh. Hugh was a strong, quiet leader, and we loved having him in the youth group to be a role model for the younger guys. We got to see Hannah and Hugh grow in the Lord, see them serve and lead in our youth group, and grow together in their relationship. After we moved back to Marble Falls to work at Camp Peniel, we were very thankful to continue our friendship with our youth; Hugh spent a summer working with Jerett and the horses at camp. So here we are, wedding day. These two are so special, and it was their desire that their wedding day reflect Jesus. What a sweet November day!

Waiting for his bride…

One of the most special father-daughter moments I’ve seen. A recording of Hannah singing a song she wrote for her dad was played… and tears were shed.
